Visiting Charles Hill

Wednesday was a beautiful sunny day here in Charles hill! The weather was nice and cool this morning, but now it’s a bit hot and dry with occasional breeze. Nice to go sightseeing.

Around 0830 am I walked over to see where Tonic works and meet her colleagues before they go on a trip to Ghanzi today.  I plan to go do more sightseeing, as the streets are better paved than down south. The trails are sandy but not dusty after the rain.

I walked to the clinic to see what was there but the nurses were busy and I didn’t meet anybody I knew.

I walked back to the little shopping plaza to buy some internet bundles at the post office. I wanted 2 gigabytes. Unfortunately I Lost 80 pula of airtime during the process  However, the technician managed to assist me to get at least one gig, then he put me into the tutorial so that next time I can do it online.

I  bought some goat meat and vegetables  and walked home!

It’s cool in the shade and Tonic has a nice covered porch, but I don’t dare sit there even though it’s cooler.  Apparently in the pepper tree in front of the porch she told me that a giant snake lives in it!

I will be heading back Thursday.   Mom called this morning to say they ran out of river sand and Portland cement building the septic tank and she was making arrangements for delivery.

I will have to catch 0500am bus to Ghanzi to connect to GBE bus.
[Editorial note:  Binnie hitch hiked instead and got a 10-hour ride with a South African transport truck returning to South Africa from delivering corn to Namibia and was  cutting through Botswana.  The lone driver talked non-stop to pass the time as he pulled his two empty trailers home.]

Friday will be my spent running around shopping  No peace for the wicked as the saying goes...

The wide open streets of Charles Hill.
