On July 5th Binnie, Gordon and I along with my brother and his 2 kids are heading home to Botswana for a visit. For Binnie a chance to see her mom, siblings and friends. For Gordon a chance to see his African granny, aunts, uncles and cousins. For Dave, Isabella and Iain a chance to visit the African continent and to see the country of Botswana through the eyes of those who live there.
The title of this blog arises from a constant refrain of Gordon as our trip approaches. To him, to go to Botswana means missing out on the majority of his soccer season in Trenton and the chance to play ball hockey in the provincial championships. Thus, he would rather stay home. Somehow once he sets foot on the ground in Botswana I'm sure that attitude is going to change.
